The Berman – also known as The Berman Center for the Performing Arts – is a professional state-of-the-art entertainment venue that showcases an eclectic variety of world-class entertainment for all audiences of Metro Detroit.
Located on the campus of the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit – The Berman is the premier performing arts center in Oakland County, Michigan. Each season features local, national, and international performance by artists in theatre, music, dance, comedy, lectures, family shows, and films.
HOW BIG IS THE THEATRE? The Berman has two seating configurations, either 600 or 300, with a wall that divides the audience seats in half.
HAVE ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES? Don’t worry, we want you to have an easy entry. So, you are able to enter the front doors of The J and get to your seat without ever having to use stairs. All performances have room for 18 wheelchairs and 4 seats with lift-able armrests.
NEED HEARING ASSISTANCE? We have you covered. For those who need a little extra volume, hearing assisted devices are available at the ticket office as well as our built in hearing loop which you can tune into with your personal aid.
